Product Description

The Si828x family (Si8281/82/83/84) offers isolated, high-current gate drivers with integrated system safety and feedback functions, ideal for driving Silicon Carbide (SiC) FETs, power MOSFETs, and IGBTs in inverter and motor control applications. Utilizing Skyworks' proprietary silicon isolation technology, these devices provide up to 5.0 kVrms withstand voltage per UL1577, offering enhanced performance, stability, and common-mode rejection. The integrated DC-DC controller simplifies the implementation of an isolated supply for the driver side. The Si828x family supports user-adjustable frequency for emissions control, a soft-start function for safety, and shutdown capability. Key features include DESAT detection, FAULT feedback, UVLO, soft shutdown on fault, ultra-fast short circuit protection (< 1 s), high CMTI (125 kV/s), and integrated Miller clamp. Automotive-grade options are available, built with automotive-specific manufacturing flows and AEC-Q100 qualification.
